What I find most rewarding about working at ACE is the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the important projects we construct everyday. As a self-perform General Contractor, ACE employees are directly involved in planning and executing the projects that we construct. Whether it’s forming and pouring cast in place concrete structures, installing complex process equipment or executing plant shutdowns and tie-ins, we are performing the actual work, not delegating it to a subcontractor. Having that personal connection with the work makes it truly rewarding when you look back upon a completed project. Additionally, knowing that the projects we construct directly contribute to the public “good” adds additional meaning to our work. Repairing our country’s infrastructure which has a positive impact on the environmental condition of the public waterways and drinking water systems is work that helps all of society and we can be proud of.
One of the most interesting aspects of working in wastewater construction is the wide range of people you get to work with on a daily basis. On the job site, you interact with an array skilled craftworkers in different trades who can build just about anything. Our clients are typically municipal organizations who employ managers, process engineers, plant operations staff and maintenance technicians who we interact with on a daily basis. The engineering firms who design our projects employ professional engineers and highly educated PHD’s who conceptualize the projects and put them down on paper. Our projects often require process equipment and electrical equipment manufactured all over the USA and employ manufacturing and production engineers. This incredibly diverse cross section of society really exposes you to people with all types of skills and backgrounds. They are all bound together by the common thread of improving the water quality in this country which makes this industry both fun and rewarding.
