At ACE, we are proud to support initiatives that honor and give back to those who have served our country. One of the ways we demonstrate this commitment is by participating in community events like Feed a Veteran, which helps provide meals and support to veterans in need.
Through collective efforts, we’ve been able to contribute to raising funds, preparing meals, and delivering them to veterans who have sacrificed so much for our nation. These events not only provide direct assistance to veterans but also bring together employees, partners, and community members in the spirit of service and support.
We are grateful to those who lead these efforts and to our dedicated team members who participate in making a positive impact. Their involvement reflects our core values of community, service, and respect for those who have served.
At ACE, we believe in the power of community and are committed to building a stronger, more connected world through our actions and support for causes that matter.
CAMP NAWIC is a free, week-long day camp for 7th to 12th grade girls to introduce them to a potential career in the construction industry. Many young girls are unaware of the possibility of a rewarding and financially beneficial career in the construction trades or related fields. Camp NAWIC is designed to give them real hands-on experience.
In August of 2024, ACE employees Marielle Funk, Gabriela Cornejo, and Julia Resch kicked off the NAWIC Summer Camp in Baltimore by giving the girls a snapshot of what working in construction is like! We showed them why a career in water construction is important and let them test out their skills on fixing a pipeline. They then got to participate in the Leaky Pipe Challenge and it was fun to see all their different ideas on how best to complete the challenge.
Prepare for Success, in partnership with the Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC), is a non-profit organization providing K-12 students in Howard County, MD with the school supplies they need to start the year prepared for success. ACE employees Kellie Grimes and Hadiah Broady led the charge in securing over $1,200 in donations from our staff (plus a full match from ACE) to purchase and donate over 120 backpacks filled with school supplies.
“Prepare for Success has long been supported by local businesses, churches, and civic groups. Today we had an amazing donation from a newcomer, American Contracting & Environmental Services. Hadiah and Kelly dropped off some of the 120 backpacks donated by the individual employees and the company. Thank you so very much for personally delivering all those backpacks and additional supplies.”
The Howard County Conservancy is a local nonprofit whose mission is to educate children and adults about the natural world, preserve the land and its legacy for future generations, and model responsible stewardship of our environment. The ACE team is proud to support this important organization in our community.
“I want to thank your group again for your amazing work on Saturday! Seeing the tree line cleared is a dream come true for me. I appreciate all of the efforts and it was so kind of JR and the equipment crew to return and finish clearing after your lunch. I was absolutely floored when I drove down the driveway this morning. You have a wonderful, fun group of employees and it was a pleasure working with all of you. I hope to see some folks around the grounds enjoying our trails soon! Thank you for organizing everything for your crew and for generously donating your Saturday to the Conservancy. We welcome you back anytime!”

Rock Creek Conservancy is a watershed organization protecting Rock Creek and the philanthropic and stewardship partner to the entirety of Rock Creek (National) Park. The Conservancy’s mission is to restore Rock Creek and its parklands as a natural oasis for all people to appreciate and protect.
On November 15, 2021, ACE volunteers made a triumphant return after some time off due to the pandemic to support Rock Creek Conservancy in their mission to restore and protect one of the most cherished natural spaces in the Washington, D.C. area. Our employees spent the day collecting trash, and improving the trails to ensure Rock Creek continues to thrive as a green oasis for the local community. In a few short hours we managed to pick up 26 bags, which is about 400 lbs. of trash! We’re proud to contribute to preserving this important ecosystem and excited to continue our commitment to environmental stewardship. ACE’s Young Professional’s Committee did a great job organizing this impactful event.
ACE has been supporting Rebuilding Together Howard County for many years. This is a great cause for our team to volunteer together to repair a home and revitalize our community. Thanks to everyone who has come out over the years to give a helping hand and in turn helped strengthen our community.
