The following is a general description of the project:
The Kenneth B. Rollins Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Chemical Feed System Upgrades project will replace existing main components of the sodium hypochlorite and potassium permanganate feed systems at the Town of Leesburg’s (Town) water treatment plant. Equipment for these two systems is to be upgraded to meet operational demands. This project is crucial to the Town’s continued efforts to ensure a robust supply of finished drinking water to meet growing demands. 1. Work on the Sodium Hypochlorite System generally consists of the following: a. Removal and legal disposal of existing bulk storage tanks. Assume there will be a 1,000 gallons of sodium hypochlorite to dispose of off-site. b. Installation of new bulk storage tanks. c. Removal and legal disposal of schedule 80 CPVC suction piping in the tank room and pump rooms. d. Installation of new schedule 80 CPVC suction piping and accessories in the tank and pump rooms. e.
