From apprentice programs for our craft workers, supervisory programs for our superintendents and foremen, or management training for our project managers and engineers, ACE has implemented career development programs at each level of employment.
The highlight of our Project Engineer Academy, for me, is meeting everyone. It’s an incredible opportunity for new hires to connect with each other and build relationships with senior leaders they might not otherwise get to know personally—all while gaining valuable insights into the intricacies of water and wastewater construction.

ACE Career Development Framework
The ACE Career Development Framework is a comprehensive system that includes the Project Engineer Academy, Project Management Academy, and the Field Coordinator Academy, ensuring tailored growth paths for employees at various stages of their construction and management careers.
Project Engineer Academy
- Focuses on technical and leadership training for early-career professionals.
- Combines hands-on activities, live sessions, and certifications like OSHA 30.
- Covers core competencies such as contract interpretation, scheduling, and safety protocols.
Project Management Academy
- Prepares Senior Project Engineers for Project Manager roles using a "Crawl-Walk-Run" approach.
- Emphasizes leadership, financial acumen, and advanced negotiation skills.
- Ensures alignment with ACE's core processes for efficient project execution.
Field Coordinator Academy
- A multi-year program designed to develop field leaders into Construction Superintendents.
- Structured learning paths include skill areas like earthwork, concrete, mechanical installations, and process piping.
- Integrates hands-on tasks, mentorship from Superintendents, and progressive learning from beginner to advanced levels.
